Geld gespart dank optimaler Materialersatzlösung

armasuisse Immobilien commissioned us with the civil engineering service LHO 103 for the SIA phase 31-53.

The multi-purpose hall in Brugg was built in the seventies, which meant that various components had reached the end of their service life. Due to the structural condition, but especially because of the poor condition of the building services equipment, a partial renovation was not pursued. Instead, a complete renovation was carried out with the aim of ensuring that the renovation measures would allow the building to continue to operate for 40 years for the building material and 25 years for the building services.

Total renovation required

The structural analysis of the multi-purpose hall showed that the normative criteria were not fulfilled and that a total renovation was necessary. Based on a cost/benefit analysis, it was decided that the existing building fabric should be reused. The assessment of the condition of the individual load-bearing components as well as the repair, reinforcement and seismic retrofitting were part of the scope of work.

Material replacement solution found, money saved

Due to the poor subsoil, we had to find a material substitute solution with low ballast, ideal heat transfer coefficient and increased load-bearing capacity of the subsoil. We carried out load-bearing tests on the construction site and found what we were looking for: A Misapor material replacement solution combined with a lean concrete layer as coffering fulfilled the requirements. Thanks to this solution, the client was able to save a large amount of money in Swiss francs.
